Power Supply Replacement
To replace the power supply, shut down the system, remove power, remove
the system cover, refer to the figure, and perform the following procedure:
- Put on your ESD wriststrap.
- Disconnect the power cables from the drives.
- Disconnect power cable P1 from J9 on the riser card.
(You may have to remove a PCI/ISA option card.)
- Disconnect power cable P2 from J1 on the riser card.
- From the rear of the system, remove the four screws securing the
power supply to the chassis.
- Remove the upper screw that secures the internal storage bay bracket.
- Remove the Ethernet adapter card (one screw) and rest it in the bottom of the
chassis (leave the cable connected).
- Remove the audio adapter card (one screw) and rest it in the bottom of the
chassis (leave the cable connected).
- Slide the power supply slightly forward and then lift it out the side while guiding the
cable harness.
- Insert the new power supply into the system. Ensure that the two tabs on the bottom
engage the chassis shelf.
- Secure the power supply with four screws from the rear of the system.
- Replace the upper screw that secures the internal storage bay bracket.
- Replace the audio adapter card (one screw).
- Replace the Ethernet adapter card (one screw).
- Connect the power cable P1 to J9 on the riser card.
- Connect the power cable P2 to J1 on the riser card.
- Connect the remaining power cables to the drives, as required.
